West Sulawesi Province - On December 6 to 7 2023, the big event "West Sulawesi Province 2023 Agricultural Census Regional Coordination Meeting" was successfully held. This event was attended by various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in West Sulawesi and was filled with a series of informative and lively activities.
The first day of the event began with an opening by the Acting (Acting) Governor of West Sulawesi, Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh SH., MH. On this occasion, he conveyed the importance of the Agricultural Census in strategic policy planning for the agricultural sector in this region.
One of the highlights of the first day was the launch of the 2023 Agricultural Census results and an in-depth discussion regarding the census results. The event was also decorated with the presence of various OPD officials who took part in formulating future steps to advance the agricultural sector in West Sulawesi.
The panel discussion "Talkshow on Utilizing ST2023 Results for Food Sovereignty and Farmers' Welfare" was the center of attention on the first day. A number of speakers such as Ir. M. Nurbakti and the Head of West Sulawesi Province Bappeda (Dr. Juanda Maulana, M.Sc.), gave a presentation on the results of the complete ST2023 census and its use as basic data for strategic policy planning in the agricultural sector. In another session, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, University of West Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kaimuddin, M.Si., delivered material on "Sustainable Agriculture: For Food Sovereignty and Farmer Welfare." He emphasized that the results of the 2023 Agricultural Census data will be a valid basis for formulating policies to achieve food sovereignty and farmer welfare.
The second day of the event was filled with Capacity Building which involved participants in the session "How to Develop Public Communication?" guided by Adi Arwan Alimin. The closing night became a momentum of appreciation, where various awards were given to the District BPS in West Sulawesi which had organized activities well and with dedication. Central Mamuju Regency achieved achievement as the best PL-KUMKM organizer in West Sulawesi Province. With the success of this event, it is hoped that the data from the 2023 Agricultural Census can become a strong basis for formulating policies that support sustainable agriculture and improve the welfare of farmers in West Sulawesi.
