Central Mamuju TKPKD Coordination Meeting: Together Overcoming the Challenge of Poverty

Topoyo (18/12/2023) - In an effort to improve coordination and overcome poverty challenges, the Central Mamuju Regency Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD) held a coordination meeting which was attended by various strategic parties.

The event was opened by the Regional Secretary of Central Mamuju Regency, H. Askary, S.Sos., M.Sc., who expressed his hope that this activity could take Central Mamuju Regency in a better direction, especially in eradicating poverty.

The main resource person for this meeting involved the Head of Bappedalitbang, Litha Febriani, SE., M.Si, and the Head of BPS Central Mamuju Regency, Sundari Budiani, S.ST, M.Si.

Litha Febriani, Head of Bappedalitbang, discussed the policy direction of the poverty reduction plan in Central Mamuju. The important point revealed was the poverty rate target for the first quarter of 2024 which was set at 5.84%.

Sundari Budiani, Head of Central Mamuju BPS, explained the condition of poverty in the Regency. Although the poverty rate has increased, mainly due to CPO export restrictions affecting the plantation sector, the severity and depth of poverty has decreased. The recommended solutions presented include the need for supporting sectors other than the plantation sector, business fields that are friendly to women heads of households, reducing the burden of expenditure, controlling inflation, and prioritizing basic infrastructure.
