“Desa Cantik” Program Introduced to Salupangkang Village Officials by BPS Mamuju Tengah

Topoyo, April 30, 2025 — The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Mamuju Tengah Regency, represented by the Head of the Desa Cantik Program Team, Miftahuddin, conducted a socialization session on the “Desa Cinta Statistik” (Desa Cantik) Program at the Salupangkang Village Office, Topoyo District. The event was attended by Salupangkang Village Head H. Sapiil and all village officials.

In his presentation, Miftahuddin explained that Desa Cantik is a national initiative by BPS to build the capacity of villages in managing statistical data independently. The main goal is to empower villages to produce data that is accurate, up-to-date, integrated, and easily accessible to support data-based planning and development.

“A strong village is one that understands its data. Through the Desa Cantik Program, village officials are encouraged to grasp the importance of data in planning work programs, making decisions, and improving public services,” he stated.

Participants listened attentively and actively engaged in the discussion session. Salupangkang Village Head H. Sapiil welcomed the initiative and expressed his support for its implementation. “I hope this socialization can broaden the insight of Salupangkang Village officials regarding the importance of the Desa Cantik Program for the advancement of village statistics,” said H. Sapiil.

BPS hopes that with this socialization, Salupangkang Village will grow to become a data-aware village and a role model in local data governance.
