The 2024 Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) is part of a series of 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) activities carried out throughout Indonesia. SEP is a continuation of ST2023 which is carried out regularly according to recommendations from The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The main objective of SEP is to collect economic data from agricultural business units, including income, expenditure, cost structure, and welfare indicators from agricultural business units in Indonesia. In addition, the SEP also aims to provide the basic data needed to monitor several indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs), especially indicators 2.3.2 (net income of small-scale farmers) and 2.4.1 (proportion of sustainable agricultural land).
As in ST2023, the observation units in SEP 2024 are also divided into three categories, namely SEP UTP (Individual Agricultural Enterprises), SEP UPB (Incorporated Agricultural Company Enterprises), and SEP UTL (Other Agricultural Enterprises). Central Mamuju Regency BPS is responsible for implementing the UTP SEP by involving 10 Field Data Collection Officer (PPL) partners and 3 BPS organic officers as Field Inspection Officers (PML). Meanwhile, for UPB/UTL SEP officers, there are 2 BPS organic officers, including 1 member taskforce and 1 Supervisor. Before carrying out field data collection, all officers must undergo training to ensure good quality data collection. Training for UTP and UPB/UTL officers has been carried out using the method blended learning, which consists of 2 days of online training and 2 days of offline training.

In its implementation, the 2024 SEP sample target in Central Mamuju Regency is 450 Individual Agricultural Business Units (UTP), 5 Legal Entity Agricultural Company Business Units (UPB), and 3 Other Agricultural Business Units (UTL). The sample target is not small, increasing the synergy of all Central Mamuju BPS employees in the successful implementation of the 2024 SEP.
