In March 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province will be 2.76 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.82. The highest inflation occurred in Majene Regency at 2.84 percent with a CPI of 106.28 and the lowest occurred in Mamuju at 2.64 percent with a CPI of 105.10.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.60 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.06 percent; health group by 2.99 percent; transportation group at 0.52 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.90 percent; education group at 0.67 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 6.09 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.10 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: the clothing and footwear group by 0.36 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.31 percent. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups did not experience changes or were relatively stable.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Sulawesi Barat Province is 0.43 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 0.58 percent.
