Development of Consumer Price Index / Inflation Rate, March 2018 in Sulawesi Barat Province

Abstract

Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey 82 cities in Indonesia in March 2018, showed that 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 2.10 percent with CPI of 134.42 and the lowest in Sumenep at 0.01 percent, Mamuju ranks sixth out of 25 deflationary cities. 

The deflation in Mamuju in March 2018 was due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decline in the price index in the two expenditure categories: deflation by 2.55 percent and education, recreation and sports by 0.14 percent, while the four expenditure groups experienced inflation and one group is relatively stable ie health group. 

The rate of change in March 2018 calendar index in Mamuju is 0.22 percent inflation while the rate of year-on-year index change (March 2018 to March 2017) is inflation of 2.62 percent.
