Solemn Ceremony for National Defense Day 2024 at BPS Mamuju Tengah

Mamuju Tengah, December 19, 2024 - In commemoration of the 76th National Defense Day, the BPS Office of Mamuju Tengah held a solemn flag ceremony at its office courtyard earlier today. The ceremony was attended by all employees of the BPS Mamuju Tengah and led by the Head of BPS Mamuju Tengah, Sundari Budiani, S.ST., M.Si., as the ceremony's inspector.

In her address, Sundari Budiani read a message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasizing the importance of remembering the struggles of the nation's heroes in defending sovereignty. The President highlighted that the historical event of the Second Dutch Military Aggression on December 19, 1948, marked the establishment of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PDRI), a testament to the nation's resilience in safeguarding independence.

This year's National Defense Day theme, “Ignite National Defense for an Advanced Indonesia,” serves as a reminder for all citizens to continuously contribute in various aspects of life to achieve a prosperous Indonesia. The five core values of national defense—love for the homeland, national awareness, faith in Pancasila, willingness to sacrifice, and basic defense capabilities—were also highlighted as foundations for building a strong national character.

President Prabowo Subianto also addressed the increasingly complex global challenges and the importance of strengthening Pancasila ideology as the nation's guiding principle. He called on all citizens to unite, embody the spirit of national defense, and dedicate their best efforts according to their respective roles.
